Happy Holidays 2020
I hope this missive finds you safe and well.
2019 was a difficult year for me but it taught me how to deal with the many challenges of 2020. Essentially the core value I learned was to become very focused on what is important.
In May of this year I stepped down as a partner from our Augmented Reality start-up Workshop3D and assumed an advisory role as Senior Art Director. With that decision I pivoted to other creative endeavors in the studio and elsewhere.
I have constructed a new subdomain e-commerce platform attached to my web site at shop.mihalyo.com in order for me to address recent gallery closures and canceled cultural events. The site features original art, Giclee editions and selected downloadable art.
If you are seeking affordable art for your home or as DIY gifts for friends and family, you can now download and print selected artwork that fit selected US commercial frame sizes of 8×10, 8×8, 5×7 and 5×5. I will be adding more images and options to this page at https://shop.mihalyo.com/?product_cat=download-prints
Madrone Heart is a 12×16 acrylic on canvas painting commissioned by a local forest ecologist. His loves to see his favorite tree the Pacific Madrone in northwest forests while out in the field. Unfortunately he has to relocate to California but he wanted to add something to his art collection that reminded him of his time in the region.
A Giclee of Madrone Heart is also available in my shop and includes a certificate of authenticity from my printing partner Bellevue Fine Art Reproduction.

In the studio I have been working on other commissions and developing new “Crinkle” paintings by refining abstract techniques that I’ve been exploring for the last couple of years. These and other selected original artwork can be found at https://shop.mihalyo.com/?product_cat=original-art
Meanwhile The winter 2020 issue of Salish Magazine has dropped and it features one of my paintings and an artist bio within. Salish Magazine is a nonprofit on-line publication focused on the interconnectedness of our natural world through stories and features in our Salish Sea region. https://salishmagazine.org/issue-10/
Stay safe out there.
Best to you and your loved ones in the new year.
